Want to keep the winter blues at bay when daylight savings ends? Come for a group ride with myself and some friends from 32 Spokes!
So rarely do we get to ride in a way that allows us to connect and engage with those riding around us. Our current infrastructure doesn't allow for much social riding in the city. This ride is almost exclusively on multi-use trails and is designed to allow for connection and conversation (15-20 km/h).
Stops to take photos and regroup will be encouraged.
The ride is 33 km in total and is broken up into 2 parts for those who don't wish to do the full route (see "Route" below)
Date:Nov 3 at 2pm
Duration: Approximately 2-2.5 hours including breaks (1:50 riding time) Come and go as you please!
Start:Meet at Northeast corner of Main and Gerrard (by Ted Reeve Arena)
End:Queen and Lee (lots of places to choose from for those who want to grab a bite and a beverage afterwards)
Pace: Light and conversational (15-20 km/h)
Who: Friends and family encouraged!
Bring: Lights, snack, camera, hydration. Helmets are a personal choice but highly encouraged
Weather:If the weather is nasty, we'll push to the next weekend. I'll send a tweet confirming by 1pm on the day of.
Leaves: There will almost definitely be patches of wet leaves on the trails. Click here for tips on riding on wet leaves from Cycle Toronto.
Unmarshalled ride: This is a social ride. There will be no police escort or closed off intersections. We will leave no rider behind. Please bike responsibly and respect the rules of the road and your fellow riders.
I've split the ride into two parts. Drop off after the first half or join us for the second half! All welcome.
